INFO
STEREOMAID
Stereomaid is a rock band started in 2004, high in the Rocky Mountains of Winter Park, Colorado. Stereomaid's first album has been described as a "Tasty" mid-'70's, "Rock" biscuit with some creamy "Pop" drizzle. Yummy! Since 2005 Stereomaid has been playing from the west coast of California to the shores of Chicago and other land masses in between.

Stereomaid's debut album The Little Things That Come Between Us was released in December of 2008. The album was recorded and produced by Greg McRae in Denver, Colorado and featured Oly and former band mate Beau Skogen (guitar) "Tunnel 6" on much of the record, along with various friends and Colorado musicians. Stereomaid's song "Hello" is part of the Slope Side Production This Side of Berthoud Volume I. The Band's song "Someday" was selected to be on Deep South Entertainment's release Deep 6. Stereomaid's song "Pocket Knife" is part of the This Side of Berthoud Volume II from Colorado based Slope Side Productions. Stereomaid spent a couple days in December of 2011 working on a couple new tunes at Flowers Studio in Minneapolis, Minnesota with producer Ed Ackerson. Stereomaid looks forward to seeing you at a show soon!

OLY
Eric Olson, nicknamed "Oly," grew up in Stillwater Minnesota, just outside Minneapolis. Oly started playing drums at age 9, which is apparent in his rhythmic guitar playing today. He began his full time singer/songwriter career in Colorado and released his first EP, “Simplify,” in 1995. Later that year he founded the band Tunnel 6, which released its self-titled debut album, "Tunnel 6," in 1997. In 2002 Oly released a solo acoustic album, "Holly Would," with producer and friend Brad Witham. In 2004, Tunnel 6 was replaced by Oly's next project, Stereomaid, again fronted by Oly and featuring his original songs and unique blend of rock, folk and punk. In 2008, Stereomaid released "The Little Things that Come Between Us," produced by Greg McRae (Rose Hill Drive, Flobots). Notable shows included supporting Porcupine Tree at the Fox Theater in Boulder and playing at On The Rox at the Roxy Theatre in Hollywood CA. Oly also co-founded and fronted a popular 80’s tribute band, Huge in Germany, which opened for Jefferson Starship and Country Joe McDonald.

Oly returned to his Minneapolis roots in 2011. In a nod to the great 70's rock that has always influenced his musicianship, Stereomaid released a 7" vinyl record produced by legendary Minneapolis producer Ed Ackerson (Golden Smog, the Replacements) in 2012.
In 2018 Oly worked with singer/songwriter and producer/engineer PJ Olsson, the lead singer for the Alan Parson's Live Project. They recorded two songs together, "Why Don't We" and "No Plan," which are available online.

This album is like a tasty, little, mid-'70's, "Rock" biscuit with some creamy "Pop" drizzle. "In a Lifetime" and "Someday" are standouts, and show how good this band can be. Refreshingly original arrangements and above par, relaxed-sound production, throughout. Singer, Oly, can rock his voice a la Bob Mould, or smooth it like Adam Duritz. Nice use of pedal steel in "Holly Would." "Mother Freedom" gets a little noodley, but they get their hard-rocking point across. Overall, I'd stop the dial on their songs as I cruise up I-70 on a weekend ski trip with a mellow buzz on, and thinking about good times…yeah…good times!
